I think any doser is capable of failing - especially the ones (like most) that have only two wheels pressed against the tubing, not three. That said, it sounds like you had the level of the liquids being dosed above the level of the tank water that was being dosed into, as siphoning...

I trust BRS. On the doser's page (BRS 2 Part Doser - 1.1 mL per minute) it states "Tubing Type - Santoprene".
