    Steve, What is pushing your move to bio-pellets? Nitrates and/or Phosphates? In my experience, bio-pellets preferentially remove Nitrates. If you're looking for Phosphate reduction, I think you're going to be very disappointed. (My (DIY) Sulfur Nitrate reactor keeps my Nitrates at 6ppm, and...

    Nate, A poor seal or PVC solvent connection can result in a venturi effect where air is sucked into the piping by the flowing water. Not too easy to tell from your description. Bob
