    Coral wars

For anyone who does not believe that corals have wars, I caught two of mine fighting. My hermit crab turned this small SPS coral towards this LPS and this is what happened. Both corals lost significant tissue. This happens all the time and you need a lot of distance between unrelated species.

    blange3's 180 upgrade

I agree with most of these things which is unusual because I usually don't agree with much 8) Circulation is of course important especially eliminating dead places. On some very healthy reefs the currents far surpass anything that we could ever acomplish in a tank. One thing that may be a...

    blange3's 180 upgrade

My temperature is lowering itself now that winter is coming. To save money I had my wife knit my fish little "fish cozies" so I won't have to heat the tank this year.

    Execution Lighthouse

Execution Lighthouse was built in the early 1800s and sits in the middle of the Lond Island Sound. It has never been opened to the public and was sealed shut since the 1970s. The Coast Guard is giving away all of it's lighthouses for one dollar with a few stipulations. The owners must maintain...

You can't run a tank that way!

I did something tonight that I never do and it is against one of my cardinal fish keeping rules. I fed my fish flakes :hmm2: That was 15 minutes ago and they are still writing bad things about my family on the inside of the glass. It was a mistake, I didn't have time to feed them yesterday...

You can't run a tank that way!

Now this is a very cool picture of the fish corner of my workshop. The big blue thing hanging is the RO/DI water tank. It is high because it siphons to the tank above the ceiling about 30' away. You can just make out the acrylic DI resins to the left of the blue bucket. There is a homemade float...

    I caught a wild seahorse

Abitnutty, seahorses are easy to collect with a two man seine net that you drag through grass flats. You can't catch them with a baited trap. I don't sell my feeders anymore, I built and sold 6,000 of them, thats enough ::)
