You can use tubing if that’s what you can afford to do but I would suggest getting braided tubing. Regular vinyl can kink and cause issues. PVC will work too, just a matter of preference. Just remember to add unions and valves for when you dissemble for maintenance or add on-s

Both are good skimmers and should work for you set up. I think it would just come down to budget. There are less expensive units out there that can be just as effective. @MarineDepot has a bubble Magnus on sale and it should work great on your system...

That’s steep, are your corals dying? If not I’d re-check your test kits You’ll need to add small amounts daily to bump it back up. All at once will shock the livestock

The sodium bicarbonate should be all you need to add to bump up the Alk. What number are you shooting for? You can also change salt mixes to keep that magic number higher

Remove the aerator on your faucet and screw in your intake line for your RO. Run the waste line down your drain You can add it directly to your tank and add salt to it. Normally its around 1/2 cup salt per gallon of fresh water
