    Favorite Controller...

    Only one I currently own. Actually, I'm using it right now. I've heard great things about Apex. It seems to be the likely winner. I've also been hearing about "reef angel". also reef keeper, but Apex seems to be winning the battle against it

    Would it work if you plugged a surge protector into a GFCI unit? Just so you didn't have to buy X amount of units.

    I need a GFCI that's out of the wall. I've only come across Shock Buster http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=17878&cmpid=07csegb&ref=3312&subref=AA&CAWELAID=525372174 Anyone else have any other recommendations? I can't do in wall unit because I rent.

    Electric usage in apartment

    If you're referring to me, I do mean turning the unit off. I also heard it does cause more electricity doing it this way. I usually leave it at 75 during the day and 72 when we get home. I'm testing it with it off during the day(goes up to 78 highest), and back down to 72 when we get home.
