I was thinking that you could cut out a piece of rock that it's attached to this way I can be fragged outside the tank. But now looking at the photo, the piece on the right if moved a bit should peel off the rock. Just a clean cut with shears should do it

a disposable razor blade will take it off. Just don't use the types covered in grease

It looks good, personally I'd leave it like that...I just would just add a check valve or something to the return n overflow line to break the syphon (in case of a power outtage) But overall I like your design, it looks like its part of that wall

For me, it's bag float to temp then drip acclimate for usually around an hour or so
