What about something along the lines of a volunteer day at the aquarium? They can basically put us to work and give us a more hands on experience on what it's like running a place like that. It may help us open that door to setting up a tank

For a Mixed reef, you may not need to go that high for ALK. Where it is should be fine. To high of Alk may mess with your softies
