For me, the code part is only an issue when u r trying to set items like an ATO, like u mentioned, its the whole purchasing of other modules that get me. I have the apex Jr. But dollar for dollar, the reefkeeper series (IMO) is the best out there for basic needs

I have one of those drop algae scrubbers, just installed it, too soon to tell

The selling pitch is the #2 marine biologists that are running this. That's the allure in my opinion. "Who else would know how to do this than a marine biologist"? They must know what they r doing....right? I think it's a wash....im sure fluval is happy though, they have somebody else to...
