Ich won't harm any inverts. But they can be carriers of it. Leave them in the DT and don't add anything to the tank for the rest of the fallow period which is generally 72-80 days. (I'm going with 80 to be safe).
So I'm currently in the process of dealing with ich myself. I've done tons of research. I had 2 wrasses. Unfortunately they don't do well with copper treatment. I started out that way and lost one of my 2 wrasses. I would very highly suggest doing the tank transfer treatment. Absolutely no types...
I use to use the Viparspectra on my 20g. It was a good light. Was able to keep everything up to an anemone. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the size and color spectrum with the lack of being able to control it
Like I said, I have mine in a 40B which is 36 in long. It's a wide pattern. I recommend getting the 20s because with the 10s, you're gonna need to have them set way higher which, for obvious reasons, reduces the pumps life. (just like every other brand, it's better to have more available, dialed...
I have 2 on my 40B and it's plenty of wide flow. They're set to about 1/4 of the way rn to random, master and slave mode. I highly recommend. Can't beat them for the price
BRS I believe did an episode where they talked about UV and found that UV does not affect the good bacteria in our tanks. This is because the beneficial bacteria that we DO want in our tanks live on surfaces like our rock, sand, glass and equipment and are not free floating. Because of this, UV...
So while my tank is in its fallow period, I figured it would be a good time to add pods and allow them to multiply without predators. I was wondering, would filter socks cause them to get stuck when going down the overflow?
The socks are the 200m ones.
(I do also have red Sea filter cups...
Aquatic obsession is still open. I was there about a week or 2 ago. They just have different hours because of covid.
That said, I would now only strictly buy from Aquarium Care center and Reefco because they start treatment in their tanks and have always been straight forward with me. I...
My Duncan has been super hardy and probably my fastest growing coral. I have had my nitrates at more than 60 at one point and now it's at 1.5 and still just as healthy. Flow or no flow. Exactly under the light or off with something shading it.
Temp is steady at 79 degrees. The tank they were in before stayed steady at 81.
Salinity at 1.025 (both tanks)
Ph: 8.2 (both tanks)
Ammonia: 0 (used 30 lbs of established live rock from the tank they were in + 30 lbs of dry rock + a big bottle of Dr Tims. Testing every other day)
Nitrite: 0...
Well I switched everything over to new tank on friday, by sunday my foxface looked horrible and was hiding. Saw a few spots but it was so little I couldn't see clearly. It looked like sand on its fins but you could count on one hand.(dealt with ich in freshwater once so I kinda knew what to look...
A good fix for the future is to put some sort of thin mesh around the pump. Something that won't restrict flow but will stop anything from getting into the pumpsLike a stocking or something like that. I have some mesh that I used for my lid left over if you want me to cut you a piece. I bought...
