right now, since you have mostly LPS, you can get away with cheap lights. once you go more sps and harder to keep corals, I would go with better LEDs and or additonal T5s. my 50g has 4 36" T5s in an aquatic life fixture along with 2 kessil 360we. EVERYTHING grew. the T5s were a huge help...

you can also just get an overflow box and kit. i had a lifereef overflow on my 110g. never had any issues.

I've had both. my 36, 72, 110, 14, and 50g all had sand. my current setup 50g is bare bottom. the next tank the 200g will have sand. even though I like how the sps encrusted the floor in my 50g, I think sand is more a natural look. it's all up to you based on your style and taste.
