Correct. Your just gonna pull the pipe up and gravity will force the fish down the drain

Leave the pump on, pull the drain pipe and it will create a toilet bowl flush effect and the fish will get pulled down to the sump.

There are a bunch of flatworms on it. More then likely if your parameters are good then the flatworms fed on the zooxanthellae in the goni.

I've put large harlequin in with aggressive fish (lions, eels, triggers, etc) and they survived. Feed the tank really heavy and add it after the lights have been out a few hours. or option 2 Get a magnetic fish acclimation box with a lid and add the shrimp in there. Toss some stars in there...
