Did some tank maintenance, pump cleaning, etc with citric acid etc, and also tied in my 35 gallon frag tank yesterday which was also cleaned with muriatic acid. Anyway. All corals were fine this morning but my ALK dropped from the usual 8.8 to 7.2 overnight. Sure it was the acid or baking soda...

What do people use as shroom baskets on the bottom of the tank? Would something like this work, I have several loose shrooms too. Will they blow out? Thoughts....

When I had my coral banded shrimp, I occasionally would see a small one here or there, but this guy. Had to share. Quart sized pitcher for reference. Normal bristle also included.

Also tied it in with my main system, so one sump, one skimmer, one heater setup and one auto top off. So everything is more consistent.

Just pulled my rocks from the frag tank, actually emptied the tank and soaked with acid, for a fresh start. So all good here. Thanks

After 6 hours of running in citric acid. Just a little brushing. But came off so easy. So clean and fresh. Sure 3 months from now, it will be a much quicker soak to clean em up.

Soaking the circulation pumps overnight. If this all goes well, will do the return pump tomorrow with muriatic acid, which will take much less time. I do have a back up if things go bad.
