I recently picked up an older Red Sea and it seems like to much work to get the roller matt in place. I am sticking with floss and cups for now. Eventually will be selling my roller matt. To worried about leaks if pulling out baffle or as you stated blocked equipment. They have a good idea but...

The only thing it solves to me is no more floss or whatever. Just rinse the screen and place back in the cup.

That was questioned on r2r and reply was floss is optional in center. So the screen wraps around the cup leaving a hole in the middle. The hole concerns me as how much crap it doesn't catch. I do find it easy to just toss floss from my cup and replace. Will see what others say.

Same but bought my at a fabric store and have a bunch left. This has a 250micron mesh screen that fits around the cup not inside. You just rinse and replace it.

I use cups and floss. This originated on r2r and I posted the link there too. Owner came on and few comments and answered questions. Claim is youbrinsevthis screen out no replacement needed and adding floss is opt.
