Why you should use a feeder sor some fish

I have been using a baby brine shrimp feeder for many years. Notice the blue stripe pipefish and the mandarin are pregnant as they always are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROQgxQG_AFg&feature=youtu.be

How does food equate to health

Mark, it sounds like you agree with me and that is unusual. It boggles my mind at how many disease threads there are and there is no need for it. A fish should almost never get sick, if mine don't, then no one's should as I am just a Lug Nut fish tank guy and not a professor of theoretical...

How does food equate to health

(I posted this elsewhere and also decided to put it here.) When I wrote this (and quite a few other articles/posts) on this subject I knew there were going to be doubters and just plain un-believers so I was hesitant to post it. On some forums, I can't even mention immunity. As you know I got...

How does food equate to health

NyeGTI, it is hard because even after one day people on other forums are doubting and questioning everything, but they also can't explain why I don't have to quarantine and have not in 38 or so years.

How does food equate to health

I don't know if you noticed but there are an awefully lot of people posting on disease forums. Why is that? Fish in the sea are almost always healthy until someone puts them in a tank. I have been diving since the early 70s and don't remember ever seeing a sick fish on a reef. How many fish...

Possable way to enhance live Blackworms

If you soak them in oil, remove most of the water first or the oil will just float. Just before you want to feed them to your fish, fill their container a few times and pour it out to remove the floating oil. It makes a mess.

    Petco here carries them.

Possable way to enhance live Blackworms

I doubt the worms will live longer being covered in fish oil as they are water creatures. I just like to get as much fish oil into my fish as I can but even without the oil, IMO blackworms are the best food there is and I would not be in this hobby if I could not get live worms. That's how...

Possable way to enhance live Blackworms

As I have been mentioning for decades I feed my fish live blackworms every day and IMO is the reason all my paired fish are spawning, I have never posted on a disease forum and I don't have to quarantine. I think I have found a way to make a great food even better. I have been experimenting...

    stray voltage

Use your toe, then drink some Merlot like I originally mentioned.

    stray voltage

If your reading is any less than about 108 volts, then it is induced electricity and is no problem, go back to sleep, maybe have a glass of Merlot. Are you sure you are reading your meter correctly and have it set on AC voltage possibly with a little picture like this next to the setting - - -...

Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

In the summer my reef is a planted tank. I collect these codium seaweeds in the Atlantic as well as other algae's and stick them in my tank. They live for a few months then I throw them out. They are very common on the eastern part of Long Island New York and I think they look very cool. I...

Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

Like most people on the east coast, we got a little snow last night. About 27" I think. This is 2 hours after I cleared the sidewalk with my snow blower.

    Inspection camera

This would work. It has a connection on it that you can connect to a TV or I would imagine a phone. When I get time I would like to try to figure it out as the pictures are very clear. It also has a light on the end that you can control the brightness and flip the picture over. I got it in...

    Inspection camera

I have one of those inspection camera's that have a 4' flexible probe on the camera that you can use to see what is blocking pipes, behind walls and all that. It is a very clear color camera so I tried it out in my reef tank. I pushed it all the way into the cave where my pair of pistol shrimp...

My tank seems to be evolving

I usually have clams and lost one last year. I am not exactly sure why he died but I have my suspicions about large bristle worms. I have some so big they took the clam away to feed to their kids.

My tank seems to be evolving

Thanks, this is the other side. I try to not have it look like a conglomeration of frags or sticks. I think it is natural looking.

My tank seems to be evolving

My tank seems to be evolving. I was looking at it today and noticing that I am leaning more towards sponges, gorgonians and long tentacle LPS corals than ever before. I think that is because I have been able to find more interesting things than before even though there are quite a few LFSs...
