I have to step up to bat for catalina,I have and still do own numerous light fixtures from them and no one else can beat his warranty on lights 5 years,not to mention the quality is far better than alot of other fixtures on the market.
I run one on my 120 with low flow more to burn up algae than anything.I don't think they work too good for parasites but I can't prove that, never had any.KNOCK on wood... :P
un needed added food leads to diminished water quality over time, cause the more they eat the more they excrete. ;)
My 5 clowns keep my nems. well fed,if I want to see them eat I'll watch sandees vid. ;)
Easy solution here,contact one of our vendors or wait for a group buy and theres the "saving yourself money"
comes with insrtuctions and if you needed help more than likely someone on here has or has used the same reactor and can help answer questions,unlike with a DIY
I have 420nm and they are MUCH whiter than the 460nm.To me it's not a true actinic but more like a 20K spectrum bulb,you get some fluorescence color pop from the corals but nothing like the 460 does.
I would look past this light,these cheap fixtures seem to need new ballasts in a couple months,save your money now and invest in a quality fixture.

There used to be a bunch of home remedies but these days the companies products we used to use are using fillers that aren't reef safe like the mag flakes and pedlow.Some people I'm sure still have some secrets but I just use store bought now.
