rgarofalo what pump are you using on the skimmer?
I may just be that it's a new tank and not much to skim out but if the skimmer is underdriven it won't function correctly.Another thing you can do is play with the air intake on the tower move it into different positions and see if it will pull...
I need to replace my timers and was wondering if anyone is familiar with these,or can give me other choices.

Both skimmers are great don't think you would see much difference unless you went with a different pump and overdrove the skimmer.
I would take the better deal because ETSS under rates their skimmers as far as tank size.
I have and still run an air driven skimmer on my 75,I love them never any problems.
I do however have the new ETSS sump buddy 40 on my 120 but 25 years ago when I had my first reef, venturi skimmers didn't exist I would hook up the "old school" skimmer run it with a tetra luft air pump variable...
