Looking for something that we can buy for use at swaps n events. Preferably under 10gal and "modern" I found some tanks online but I want to see if anything is out there 1st before I purchase.

I think your right on the calothrix. Could you also cut your lighting to about 6hrs per day? To see if it starts to die off?

Did something die in your tank? Like snails or a crab or a coral or something? And if you were to brush it, it comes off easy right?

Can you use store brought citric acid to clean equipment? Never really used it but I’m just curious. I just got an email from BRS showcasing their new product and it’s $12 for a 1lb container. I know I can get store brought a lot cheaper off of amazon.

Take A good look at it, if it looks like brown GHA and no one is touching it, it maybe dinos

If you get urchins, you can go a lot less on the snails.

I wouldn’t, that amount isn’t necessary for a cuc. Eventually the food source will run out and they’ll start to die, dumping back the waste they consumed. It’s way too much for a new tank. I’d go atleast half that after the tank cycles and you start to see diatoms
