The skimmer is old but the pump is brand new. I just set it up yesterday and know it takes time to brake in but the bubbles are ridiculous. I lost the sponge for the basket and used a skinnier one. I plan to go pickup a thicker one tonight and let it run and see what happens. Anything else it...

I have issues with my Coralife Super Skimmer, tons of micro bubbles. I picked up a 530gph needle wheel pump for it. Do I need more sponges in the basket? I am using at as a HOB. Any help appreciated; I am unable to upload the video. Yes, I know get a better skimmer but not an option now.

Thanks for confirming. mrehfeld what size pump are you using? I am not sure if its the 125 or 220. How can I tell the difference?

I agree with the skimmer if you cannot fit both.

Just to let everyone know I didn't realize the frame on bottom of tank is cracked, you can see it in the pic. I do have a black frame 75g I keep my Sulcata in. I will swap it out of anyone is interested. The tank use to hold water but has not seen it in a few years.

Pics as some people requested. The tank is a bit dirty with no scratches at least none I can see. The skimmer cup is also dirty.

You can use Rid-Ich in the display as I have done this. The corals will freak out so be prepared to do many water changes if you go this route. Even in fish only tanks you must change the water between dosages.

I had glass tops when my tank was up and switched to mesh, much better. Good luck.
