Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
If the air intake hose is hanging below the waterline and you cut the power to the skimmer it will start draining your tank onto your floor. I just found out the hard way. >:(. And don't tell me it says so in the directions.
I wouldn't call it husband-bashing. More like non-reef tank-owning-spouse bashing, which I believe is allowed if you check the bylaws.
So bash away. Better a keyboard than a head ;)
Depending on how hard the rock is, you can flatten it by rubbing it on a sidewalk. I removed about half of a football-sized piece in about ten minutes. Seems to go easier if you keep it wet and make a slurry.
I've always wanted a valentini ever since reading an article in Tropical Fish Hobbyist about what a great personality they have. That was about 15 years ago and I still don't have a fish-only tank :-\
I got one last week for my main tank and just ordered another one for my frag tank today. Not heavy on the blue side but makes the colors glow nicely like actinics.
Here's a link for fragging the shrooms -

The peppermint shrimp is probably not going after the zoos but the bits of debris between them. My hermits do the same thing when I put anything from the "wild" in my tank.
I'm going to built a frag tank using plywood lined with acrylic. What are the max dimensions I can make the tank if I use only one 175w mh bulb? The tank will be approx 8" tall and I plan on growing acros and softies in it.
Thanks
