Got the new 90 today! Thanks Francis!

Got it home in one piece (thanks Francis!) Got the old tank taken down, and everyone is swimming happily in the 30 gallon temporary tank. Working on getting the new tank in place now. I'll take some pics shortly! ;D

Dumb Question - Can we get in to - "H.H. BACKER SPRING Pet Industry Trade Show?

I was going to go to that, but things got crazy at my store, and I won't have the time to attend. My understanding is that you need verifiable reseller credentials. (they actually told me over the phone that I needed my pet resellers license, but I got it worked out with the corporate office to...

Any thoughts on this lighting solution?

PC would probably be ok for introductory softies. I guess it depends on how "deep" he wants to get into corals, and how fast. ;D I know for me, it progressed pretty darn fast! LOL! Can't hurt to ask him, right?

Anbody use the american dj pc 100?

I think this might be a good addition too, what with the "bricks" attached to some of the power cords for some of this equipment. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=012&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=220089545551&rd=1&rd=1

Any thoughts on this lighting solution?

Hey Rev, he wants to keep corals, so yeah, I'd say T5 is the minimum. Sometimes PC lighting can be ok for some corals, but from what I've read, it seems to be 50/50 on success vs not success. I guess it depends on what, where, etc. (as with most things in this hobby! ;D )

Any thoughts on this lighting solution?

That's what I'd do! That's the same fixture I have, and I love it over my 55. And believe me, that's a helluva deal he's got fer ya! ;D Take the drive, it'll be worth it. Plus, I'm sure Tom has a wealth of information he could share with you while your there. ;D Then, when you upgrade your...

Any thoughts on this lighting solution?

Yeah, I couldn't get any straight answers on it. the "Tx" is the size of the bulb, from what I've beent old. I think it is just a less expensive "T5". :) As for aquatraders, yeah, I've heard the horror stories. I took the chance, and all was good for me. The bulbs were installed in the fixture...

Any thoughts on this lighting solution?

Good point. I don't really have anything that size to run mine against. Wish I did. They seem pretty bright to me, but even replacing the bulbs would only be about $45 or so on the 48" bulbs from premium aquatics or hello lights. At any rate, it may be a good place to start. And then, if you...

I'd definitely go with the live rock rubble. If you can't get it locally, I got some here last year and it worked out great. http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=L-ROCKRUBBLE&Category_Code=Liverock

Any thoughts on this lighting solution?

Well, if you are really looking for "on the cheap", I just put one of the 36" versions of these over my 30 gallon temporary tank. I didn't want to put out a bunch of money for a tank that isn't going to stay up long. http://www.aquatraders.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=313 I know...

    Brown Algae

I agree with the limited feeding. I usually recomend to new customers a limited feeding regiment until they get really comfortable with their fish and what they will and can eat. The best thing to do is to watch closely as you feed the first few times so you get a good handle on what they will...

    LR question

I'd give it a couple days and test again. Just to be sure. It probably is ok if it came from an established tank and spent little to no time out of water, but just to be safe, give it a couple days, test again and see what happens. I'd say if all is well by the end of the weekend, you should be...
