Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Marine Farmers is having a 20% off sale. They've got some really nice looking and unusual frags.

Please, somebody buy that Ruby Red Xenia before I lose my self-control and buy it myself!
Foam probably won't work, as it will float away from where you want it to be. I've used old towels in situations like these. Fold one into a long strip and cushion the edges of the coral with it, so there is no contact with the inside edges of the bucket.
You're a lot better off with Brightwell® Aquatics Phosphat-E or Blue Life™ Phosphate Rx™
because they have known metrics:

You can only experiment with SeaKlear Phosphate Remover.
All that said, I have some...
If you plan on attending the 1/18/25 NJ Frag Fest, I like to get either the large LaZys Hybrid Blue Zing Birdsnet, or the larger XXL ORA Lime Tip Birdsnest. I'm willing to pay you a deposit or even a full asking price via PayPal before the Fest starts. Let Me Know...
As of this today, NYAquatic has these "African Red Biscuit Stars" on sale again for $40 each. There is no indication as to when the sale price expires.
FWIW, four or five days ago, one of mine spent a good 36 hours sitting on one of my nori feeders. It then moved on to a patch of green hair...
There are some Sea Squirrel like units on the market today that allow for the attaching of a power head (of your choice) to the lower end of their single axel that those units rotate, which is what they're designed for. (You can't attach a Vortech to them, or you'd have to rotate the glass...
I liked your idea, but then thought that the ball bearings would rust. I once bought some large (stainless?) ball bearings to use to push food lower in a PVC pipe. They rusted. But then I thought whoa, what if you could get ceramic ball bearings? Then, I found ...
Here's a Green Sea Star (Nardoa galatheae) at LiveAquaria:

It is the same one Ely's has/had. And, it looks like LiveAquaria actually has them in stock.
The one I got from PEA is a Naroda tuberculata. PEA no...
Next time, we might consider going as a regular vendor (Grin.) I'm not too keen on this event owner anyway. I tracked him down at the most recent NJ Reef-a-Palooza, and was told I couldn't get a table this time because they were sold out, but that I could get one for 2026. If he was sold out...
Keep your eye out for a Naroda Starfish. They eat Asterinas. I got the one I have now from Pacific East Aquaculture a year ago, but haven't seen any there since. The most recent one I've seen locally was at Ely's in Florham Park. They were being sold there as "Green Starfish".
SAILING OFF ON A DIFFERENT TACK...
I've been thinking (which isn't a necessarily good thing, especially considering the bottle of Pinot Noir that I've already consumed this evening, as well as the followup with some Triple Sec liquor.)
Personally, I was very, very, very amazed at our...
Brian neither left nor was fired. He had a drug problem, and it was the death of him. I'd like to know what he OD'd on. Once he was gone, the store's income magically increased by something like $1000 a week. But you have to admit he was a really likeable person. RIP...
I have to admit that I'm a sucker for red Starfish. I have 5 in my reef now. But even I can't spend $200 on this one, even if it is half price!
