IIRC people used egg crate pretty effectively to provide a layer of protection.

Are you going to avoid the PVC pipe when you rebuild?

Egg crate height will be dependent on your light and what corals they are. I agree with trio, DT water and a hob filter with a power head will be perfect.

Almost forgot the most important part: When you pull up the expo center, if you are looking right at it, there is parking underneath the building to the left of the entrance. For volunteers this is probably the best place to park.
