Running a fan over the water surface is a quick and easy way to drop the temp a few degrees and keep it there. Just be carefull as this also accelerates evaporation which could raise your salinity. The sun hitting the tank could also be a factor so shading it would help. As the others have...
Looking to frame out a fish room, add a slop sink and of course run some electricity. Obviously will pay for it, shoot me a pm if you do that sort of work. Tank is probably not going to be in for a few months so we have time.
So took my first trip up there and the store is very nice, can't wait to see it all stocked up. Saw some of the nice fish they were bringing in and there is going to be some top shelf stuff there. I have some pics I took, I will post later.
I would be more worried about what the nem could eat depending on what type it is and how big. The type of fish that eat nems would not really fit in any hobbyists aquarium.
+1 with the rockwork, you will have some great coral areas.
You have many options with fish that will leave your clown alone and your clown will leave alone.
1. Get another clown to pair it up with. They are much cooler in pairs and can actually be pretty easy to pair up
2. Gobies, you have...
I am not sure what you should put in first, but I know the tangs should go in last. The general consensus is peaceful fish first, followed by the more aggressive. This way the peaceful fish have time to stake a claim and find hiding spots. If the aggressive fish are in first they will declare...
Full blast IIRC, I will ask Nikki when we get home. We had a lot of SPS in that tank so we were going for increased flow. With the wierd dimensions is worked pretty well because they don't fire in a straigh line so we were able to get really good flow throughout the tank with just the one...
When we ran our 30g cube (I think it is the same dimension, old oceanic cub that is not built anymore with real think glass) we tried koralia's but they were way too big. If you can find a used mp10 that is what worked best for us.
Spawning inverts is a good sign. They almost crashed our 30g doing that at one point as about 6-8 of them were releasing that substance and essentially milked the entire tank. We had to do an emergency water change.
Very nice pavona.
I think it was an alk spike from your dosing pumps. When my pumps were not calibrated in I would get some RTN from the Alk spiking up. If you did a %30 water change and your alk was still at 9.2 it could have been much higher which is why I think it was the alk. Also the...
