I was wondering what happened to my BRS Magnesium Chloride order??? :grin: Actually if you need Magnesium Sulfate to get the right ionic equilibrium, just go to your local drug store and buy Epsom Salt….that is Magnesium Sulfate. That is what I’ve been using.

Alk cannot be zero. There is something wrong the the test (or the person doing the test :grin: ) If you lived a little closer, I'd come over with my test kit. Do you have another reefer close by or an LFS that could run you alk numbers?

My favorite (and my fishes favorite) is a flake food that was purchased through a member-group buy from Almost Natural Tropical Fish Food. My fish loved this stuff and we should probably do another group buy for this stuff…..I think the minimum was 25 pounds…..but it’s great food. No!

OK, thanks John. So the numbers I’ve posted above….426, 575, 450, are in the ballpark for my roughly 115 gallons of water. Now I’m happy and feel that I can start with the quarter dose of pellets and slowly increase to the roughly 500 mls of pellets. Good stuff! Thanks.

My dosing pumps do it three times through the night for both alk and calc.....and not at the same time; they are separated by hours.
