DIY Nano Stand
I am very happy the way the DIY Nano Cube Canopy came out, I’ve decided to now build a similarly designed stand for the JBJ 28.
There are other reasons I want a new stand as well.
1.) I’m not real happy with the stability, or lack of stability, of the stand. When I...
It is normal for the Evolutions to make a clicking sound on start-up. It's the impeller hitting that little rubber tit on the front cover. It keeps it from starting in reverse. I would suggest you take it off of the wavemaking function. Even though they tout them as being able to do...
You need to add the RSVP link to the home page. It’s usually part of this:

Thanks
George, without question, this coating is protecting the blades. Going on three weeks and not a spot of rust. Actually as I type, I have four blades cooking at 450 degrees while I’m cooking up some spiced sweet potato fries.
You have nothing to lose.....cook your blades with a little oil...
It’s hair and soap that have formed a waddie in your pipes.
Unscrew that one little screw in the screen covering the drain. Be careful not to drop the screw into the drain. Remove the screen from the drain.
Now unscrew the two screws holding in the stopper level….the one that opens and...
This never-ending project continues…….handling excess condensation.
Since I’m going to build a new stand, I used one of the grates in the current JBJ stand to vent the canopy. I cut into the upper back panel and applied a small amount of silicone. I’m going to try this passive approach...
Ryan, if you're up to it, see if you can get 10 to 12 members who want to get in on making a full batch. I will tell you your house will smell like a fish market.
Happy St. Valentine’s fellow reefers! :love_heart:
During this past snow storm, my neighbor returning home in his work truck backed his truck into his driveway. My wife heard the beep-beep-beep of his back-up warning, looked out the window, and then announced that Marco (my neighbor)...
I resurrected this post because I must respectfully disagree with the K1 being identical to the nano (425). The nano is flat faced while the K1 has an ovoid face. I actually pulled my Koralia Nano 425 out and here is what the impeller and shaft look like. Note the shaft is about as long as...
Wow! This is neat. I can take my crappy looking photos and make them look fantastic. (I wonder if it works on pictures of my wife? :o)
I actually have been cursing out the new photobucket, being an old fart and not liking change. I still don’t like that the new cropping features don’t...
This really is turning into a never-ending project. The condensation is so bad (and by the way, the standard JBJ hood condensed like crazy as well), that water is dripping off the bottom of the doors. Now I closed this up to minimize evaporation, but now I’m going to have to open it up some...
I'd be curious about the price. A company I worked for made a slip coating for the bottom of boats. Cost us a few dollars to make and we sold it for $160/gallon.
You want to mix salt overnight (OR for shorter periods with very high agitation) for three reasons:
1.) Completely dissolve the salt and other goodies in there.
2.) Stabilize pH.
3.) Aerate the water with oxygen.
My guess is that your pH was high (typical with some salts when first mixed...
