Found New store in South Jersey worth wild checking out

If you truly lived in South Jersey, you probably don't know six girls, but if you did, your avatar would spell E G U L L S !:grin::grin: Now, after seeing the Philadelphia Flyer fans beating the crap out of that cop, hopefully you Eagle fans don't know where I live! :o

    Wow! Chinese Fixture now $130

I believe Herbie is running six AI Sol’s on his tank…..slightly different fixture by about $270 each. Feng (Red Sand) exclusively runs these fixtures over all his tanks.

How much more can these things go down? The cost of one of these is now at the cost of my yearly bulb change for my six T5 bulbs! Ebay Chinese Fixture

    keyhole limpets

Jim, just curious, why do you ask? I thought limpets were reef safe (maybe with the exception of coraline algae).

FS: snowflake clown and ora black misbar. - 07006.

MOD NOTIFICATION; I just realized this Tale of the Tank stuff is in a For Sale post. Mods might want to clip these posts off and put them into Brandon's Tale. If you do that, you can make this post go away. Thanks.

ASAP: Orange Spot Filefish needs the *right* home as soon as possible!

Sandee, absolutely beautiful fish…..but known for their picky appetite. I was considering picking up a filefish for my aiptasia problem, but decided against it after reading up on them, and seeing that once the aiptasia is gone, so is the fish….to starvation. Try some of Phil’s...

FS: snowflake clown and ora black misbar. - 07006.

Brandon, you’ve got my curiosity! That looks like the back of the tank (and upper frame) was cut out (notched out) and a small glass compartment siliconed to the back of the tank. What’s up with that? How does it work? What’s that small compartment used for? I’ve never seen something like...

Brandon's you were right 75g upgrade

Looking good Brandon! I like all those unions….there is no such thing as too many unions! Now what gauge shot did you use in the shotgun to make those holes in the stand? It appears that you have two return pipes coming up from the sump. Are you running two return pumps? If...

    jgraz's SPS 20H build

I’ve done work with a mechanical contractor (a degreed “plumber”), and he would pressurize newly assembled lines within minutes of the last glue-up. This would especially be true within our low-pressure systems with our tanks. You should be good to go minutes after gluing up that last pipe...

Wow! You’re published!! So I guess you can retire now and live off the residuals. Congratulations! Can’t wait to see what it’s all about.

Anyone have an underwater housing & video camera?

If this is just for your tank, how about a ziploc plastic bag with all the air sucked out of it?

Also need plumbing advice for my tank :X

The easiest sock holder (for the ones that have the rigid plastic tops), is to put a tee in the drain pipe and hang the plastic piece in the sock rim on that tee. These pictures came from George (TanksNStuff): Yet another option is this contraption found HERE.

Also need plumbing advice for my tank :X

Actually I just ran the head loss on RC...they don't have the 1262, so I used the 1250. Very little difference in 1 1/2 and 1 inch pipe....about 2% with the numbers I used.

What type of algae is this??

It depends on how accurate your measuring tools are. If you are using a graduated syringe that hold maybe 2 mls or so, I’d go for 1.5 mls tank water with 0.5 mls of RO/DI….this will give you the 25% reduction….and the syringe is an accurate measure. If you don’t have accurate small volume...

Also need plumbing advice for my tank :X

Brandon, the filter sock holder is homemade. Easy to make. Take a piece of acrylic larger than the sock diameter and sized to fit where you want to put it. Cover it with masking tape and draw a circle slightly larger than the sock diameter…..I use 7 inch socks. Using a saber saw, cut out the...
