Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Maybe he knows more about you then we want to know! Now that raises suspicion about Mike..how does he know this. All I can say, if it lasts longer than four hours, Merry Christmas. :o
I just went into the Holiday Party posts to get the info about the party and I realize I didn’t pay. It is no longer allowing me to link through PayPal to make the payment. How should I go about paying for the party?
I certainly can pay through PayPal, but what would you like in the subject...

I agree with the check valves.
As far as blacking out the right side, I’ve use that poster board (sign board) that looks like corrugated cardboard, but it is made of a plastic material. I’ve spray painted it black and currently use it as a backdrop for a 40 gallon freshwater tank. You can’t tell...
Nano, the overflow kit comes with the drill bit to drill the hole. All you need is a drill. Watch one of their videos and you'll see how easy it is. Go slow with no pressure. That's all you need to know...Oh, and as you know, don't try it on tempered glass.
If you are close by, I'll come and...
OK, here’s my sales pitch again. www.glass-holes.com
I think this is the greatest overflow on the market. Small, quiet and a great company to deal with, to boot. Check out our build here where we drilled ½ inch glass (ca. 12 mm), with two holes (about halfway down the page)...
Slap on one of RichT’s Reef Gadgets on your Magfloat, and there is nothing better. I believe you can now purchase Reef Gadgets at some local LFS…don’t quote me, but I think AO and TB Aquatics now carry this cleaning wonders.
FYI, I use Magfloats on my tanks.
I dabbled in soaps for a major corporation a number of years ago. What we discovered was a market for high-end specialty soaps. If you sell regular old hand soap, you will not be able to compete against the giants. So make sure you use the buzz words to sell your stuff…handcrafted; all natural...

Copper is a poison to algae, bacteria and inverts. Once the fish have finished their treatment, I’d move them to the 46. Then I’d knock down the 90 and toss anything that was in there….sand and rock. Clean the tank and all components (heater, pumps, etc), with vinegar and rinse well. Refill the...
What bulb are you using in your clip-on.
Have the full spectrum compact flourescent bulb in a HD clip-on and the cheato grows just fine. If I remember correctly, it is 100 or 125 watt equivalent.
I could be totally wrong because I don’t know much, but I also thought that Nassarius were warm water snails. I’m assuming your catch was local...NJ waters. I never knew we had Nassarius here. Are you sure they are not Whelks. The difference is that the Nassarius will bury itself in the sand...
Anthony, I’m willing to bet the “slugs” you found in your tank were actually Stomatella snails. They have a slug-like appearance, only having a partial shell on their backs. Google Stomatella to look at pictures to see if that is what you have. FYI, they are good.
Three baffles should eliminate bubbles.
I’m not sure of the model number of the MTC, but it’s about half submerged in the sump. Here’s a picture that will show how deep it’s in.
