If they are black, soft and wrinkled then yes they are dead....once they adjust to the tank they'll perk up

Looks like one of those sandpaper corals, Crinkled sandpaper coral Psammocora sp.

How many fish r in your DT? Also for now, manually remove the bubble algae with your hands but be careful not to pop them. The same goes for any other algae. Are you getting more chaeto?

I use IC Gel and have never looked back. IC-Gel Insta Cure Cyanoacrylate Gel - Bob Smith Industries Wet or dry, this stuff works great. I normally only use epoxy to hold rocks together. Just apply a generous amount around the corals base or frag plug, insert to your desired location and hold...

Can you Get a brute tub/garbage can and store your fish n what not in? Just to hold your water and fish....you can add the liverock right away to your new display tank along with your sand.

Damn dude, that totally sux....I don't think I would've started up again after all that.
