I'd like to get into Tetraselmis chui production, now that I think I've finally mastered
Nannochloropsis oculata production. Please PM me with your availability for picking up the algae...
I beg differ... One never has enough rock!
(1) The more rock work you have, the more hidey-holes* you're giving your fish, which adds to their opportunity to retreat when threatened, thus adding to their sense of security in your tank, and thus adding to their health via less aggressive...
Mark,
As the host of the meet, you're certainly welcome to them. I like them as dither fish in an observation tank as they're peaceful, eat anything (including nori) and are perfect for training a new fish on how and what to eat without being harassed by them.
Bob
Count me in. Can anyone use any Molly Miller blennies? I might be giving my 4 away at the meeting. In my experience they're useless at eating aiptasia (like they're touted to do) but I think they're a great dither fish to keep in an observation tank. I'm also looking to unload 3 or 4 Black...
The problem with good sealed magnets is that they tend to be heavy. And, given that weight people tend to drop them. When they're dropped, the enclosure cracks. But the crack is never noticed right away. The magnet is then put in the tank, and it eventually bursts from the expanding rusting...
Free RBTAs for dues paying members. Pick-up only in 07039. Three available, in small to medium sizes. The biggest was 8" in diameter and taken last week.
These are what's left after my RBTA exorcism. My Ritteri went in the DT today, and hopefully won't be splitting. I don't know why I...
Here's a hoot for you all! I was surveying my RBTAs this evening, thinking about how many rocks I was going to need to move to get them all out. When, I was stunned to see an anemone crab in one of them. I couldn't remember when I'd bought it, and had to check my Specimen Spread Sheet. The...
I was a step ahead of you - I hit AF last Friday. Much to my chagrin, their good-sized assorted anemone tank was no longer where it used to be. The only large anemones I saw were giant NFS BTAs in the large clown tank. I should have asked - after I left, I recalled seeing a sign saying you...
Has anyone come across either a Heteractis crispa or a Heteractis magnifica anemone both locally and recently? The crispa is a.k.a. Colored Sebae Anemone, Purple Sebae Anemone, White Sebae Anemone, Dyed Sebae Anemone, Sebae, Leather Anemone, and Radianthus keukenthali. The magnifica is a.k.a...
FWIW, I'm a (very) old Aqua-Lifter fan. When I first came across them many years back, I emailed CPR telling them that they could/should be used in their hang-on overflows to eliminate air collection. They then did. But, I never had a thank you from them...
Anyway, I have no idea if they can...
FWIW ~~~ I just looked for water flow meters on Amazon (search there for "water flow meter gpm"). Most of those for sale are some sort of electronic, and unfortunately have metal parts. One like this might be suitable for my needs...
Thanks for the suggestion, which could happen. Right now, I have an Apex PMUP running continuously with a restricting RODI tubing ball valve. I'm measuring the output of the filter to verify GPH flow, BUT I'm not that happy with the variability of my measurements.
I've never seen any nice...
Thank you for the replies. Despite my second guesses, I might have to go with it. I can't find any continuous dosing pumps with a greater GPH, in the event my testing tells me that I have to increase the rate.
I picked up a Versa pump on BF for use as a dosing pump for a DIY nitrate filter. Can Mobius be programmed to pump 3 gallons an hour continuously? I'm asking because the Mobius app only gets two stars out of five in the Google App download site. I expected more from the app, especially from...
