5 fish, about 50lbs of Live rock and whatever snails and crabs are still alive since I was there last.
I've done the round trip in a day, it sucks but it can be done. I just don't have an open weekend I can do it until Christmas.
Chardon, about 50 miles east of Cleveland about 10 min north of...
I have thought about that, but the cost of shipping everything is about at much as it would cost to replace it all. I just started building the room for my Tank here, I can probably just have the fish shipped here and put them in my tank. If there is still a reputable fish store near Brick maybe...
I don't know where to post this thread so I'll start here and if it needs moved somewhere else mods feel free to do so.
I moved from NJ to Cleveland 2.5 years ago, prior to that I was pretty active on this board trading frags fish etc. I loved the NJ community, and miss how great everyone was...
Awesome selection and great prices.
He has better and more to offer than most the stores around here. Great deals, if you're from up north it's worth the drive for sure.
Thanks again, I found a home for everything and most are opening up already.
I just spent 20 min trying to find mine he is wedged in a spot I never would have thought he could get in. He has only been in the tank a few hours and doing the same hiding act most do. From what i gather this is pretty normal and after a week or so they get more courageous....I hope!
It give a really nice even return flow this with a Koralia 3 and a 4 I don't see any dead spots. I am very OCD about cleaning and I make sure the syphon break hole is clear 4 or 5 times a week nothing yet. The hole has a steady flow out so it would be very noticeable if it became clogged.
Starting to show some life in the tank:

It is hard to tell but there is a cave that runs the length of the bigger rock pile. the Yellow tang loves to go back and forth in the tunnel.
This weekend I hooked up a Mag 7 to a skimmer and it doesn't seem to be very weak. My question is do the magnets wear out over time on these pumps? Is it possible I just need a new impeller for it or are they just not all that powerful of pumps?
You are correct just the caps have holes drilled in them. Before I filled the tank I ran water up from the sump and tried different sizes and numbers of holes in each cap to try and get a fairly even amount from each cap. The three at the far end got a little more flow. I have an inline one way...

I was there twice last week. They have some cool stuff to look at.
It should you did all the pretty rock work.
When I got home tonight the water was crystal clear I thought for sure it would be cloudy and smelling of death.
The Skimmer was waiting for me when i got home tonight now I just have to figure out what fittings I will need from Lowes to hook it up.
WELL I did it I now have pet rocks of my very own!
I haven't updated this thread in a while so here is what I have done since I updated last.
1. Hooked up the RO/DI not that it was all the hard or time consuming. I still want to get one more section of hose so I can dump the drain water...
They had it a few weeks ago at the Lowes on 70s (not sure if that is Brick or Lakewood) it was with the other misc rolls of hose. Getting someone to get it down for you is another story, of course I am always there about 5 min before closing.
Alright I finally got a huge project done for work and had some time again this week to work on the tank. I tied all the plumbing together and gave it a test fill on Tuesday no leaks but I didn't like the way a few things were so I drained it. Last night I changed a few fittings and refilled for...
I went with an enclosed sump because noise is a very big concern so it has to be one that is external. I really can't tell a good one from a bad one. There is a HUGE price spread from $30-40 dollars to a few thousand so I am kind of at a loss at this point.
I will see what i can do this week but my crawl space isn't too exciting to look at.
I did find a Protein Skimmer at my Dad's house but i can't use it. I want to run one outside of the sump and this one needs to go inside a sump. I can't find a name on it and have not seen any like it in my...
