I think your seeing things because its right in front of me and its definitely not sagging. The light doesn't weigh 30 lbs, it weighs about 10lbs. 1/4 plexi isnt going to crack with less the 5 lbs of pressure in 2 seperate areas.

Tighten em up good. I would personally use a barbed bulkhead and a 90 degree threaded to slip fitting on the pump side. Install a barb on the thread end of the 90. You can always cut the barbs a bit shorter. I just don't trust standard pipe with hose over it. Excellent build tho, very neat

Id rinse very good withfresh saltwater. I've done this many times and it works good. You can preserve some present bacteria by washing with saltwater vs killing all washing with tap water.
