Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Just wanted to let everyone know that I got the final verdict from the boss, and we won't be coming today. Sorry for the late notice and for missing the meeting. Hope to make it to the next meeting in August.... :-\
Mike, I work for the company that makes alavert and advil. Please make sure you follow the directions for taking the advil. It is a very ptent drug for being OTC and can cause some problems with your stomach/digestive system if you overdose for an extended period of time. Alavert won;t work on...
I got a purple and cooler color purple A. robusta. A monti danae. yellow w/purple polyps and a whole bunch of frags. I will post pics soon although the camera I have is REAL crappy. Maybe I can get someone who's REAL good with cameras to bring their camera, macro lens and underwater box with...
Just wanted to give some positive feedback to reefermaddness.com. I just received an order from them on Saturday and not only did I receive all corals (including a VERY large A. robust) in one piece, but many free frags were added to the order. All corals went into the tank after ample...
Phyl's post got me thinking. If the rest of your house isn't AC - then you definately want to build a sump room in the garage, but this is what I'd do......
Build a smaller sized room, and put a pretty strong window AC in there. Then, you could have an almost closed loop that works like an old...
You're tempting fate putting a sump in a garage with no climate control. It's really not that tough or expensive to build an enclosure in the garage that can be temperature controlled. Otherwise you're risking overheating in the summer and needing more heaters in the winter. It's just easier to...
I have a completely topless tank. (If only the wife would fall in line..... ;D) I have yet to have a problem with that too. But if you're worried about it, go to HD (one of my favorite stores obviously) and get the white plastic mesh that people put over lighting in stores and such. Some reefers...
Phyl, you do know that you shouldn't have the halides over glass over the tank right?? Plus, my bulbs are 5 1/2 inches from the water's surface for almost 3 years now. I won't say without a problem, 'cause then I'll go home to two blown bulbs ;) but there is yet to be an issue.
Any powerstrip will do. I have the entire tank on one GFI outlet. I go into the stand with two powerstrips, and then split off of that to two more. It's enough to handle all the stuff I plug into the tank. I wish I didn't have to do it this way but I have no other choice until I get out of...
