    Lots of miniature starfish

I seem to find that they move onto the glass when the lights are out overnight and you can pick them out with a tweezer. I did find they liked to eat my star polyps.

Taking a fish on an airplane ... no go.

Actually I asked a friend of mine who used to work for one of the air carriers and the short answer is, not a good idea to take a fish and put them in with your checked in luggage. There is always a chance that your luggage will be stored in the non-pressurized area of the cargo hold of the...

Where to put corals when introducing new RBTA

I agree, not sure if putting a RBTA in a 55 gallon tank is a good idea. I personally never had luck with them as they would wonder around the tank and would eventually get stuck in my power heads.

Taking a fish on an airplane ... no go.

maybe you could get a couple of those hand warmers and put them next to the container with the fish. I gotta imagine it gets very cold at 30,000 feet where they store the luggage and you would want something to keep the water warm.

    Would this be possible?

I would think drilling a tank while not empty woule be very risky. I use a SOS overflow that comes with the tidepool II and never had any issues with overflowing. I use a prefilter so that nothing could get stuck in the u-tube.

plexi baffles on a glass tank?

You could always go to home depot and they can cut glass for you.

    Water Changes

As long as you have to room to store a couple 50 gallon containers that would be the way to go. Although in my opinion 15-20 gallons every other week water change may not be necassary. I usually do about 20% every month and that seems to work well. If you are doing 40 gallons a month that is...

    RO/DI - Ebay

Got mine from Filter direct on ebay and for the price, it is a good unit. There are some people on other sites that do not recommend these uniits, but I never had any issues with them. TDS was always at or near 0.

    Silencing overflow

You could also try getting a piece of air tubing and feed it down the line to the sump. Sometimes this will help as well

Ultraviolet Sterilizer on Home Reef Aquarium Poll.

I agree..KIS(Keep it simple). I know people, myself included who would make things very complicated and get every piece of equipment possible. I have a couple of buddies who keep their setups as simple as possible and they have very nice tanks. I think sometimes the more you do..the worse off...

    torch coral

I had a torch coral and the thing grew like crazy. I was able to keep it off to the side of the tank away from other corals. They are very nice additions to a tank if you have enough room for it.

    Lionfish in the Caribbean

Goes to show you, we need to be responsible reef keepers. Just something as simple as doing a water change could have a negative impact.

New 90 gallon bow (well, new to me)

This from Live Aquaria "The Catalaphyllia Elegance Coral is moderate to maintain in the reef aquarium and makes an excellent choice for the beginner to expert hobbyist. Provide ample space in the aquarium between it and other neighboring corals as it will expand to twice its usual size during...
