My new Favia has been receding the last couple of days. The polyps that are dieing off have a white cob web like substance on them. Any ideas what might be causing it and how I can stop the receding?

Found this growing on one of my rocks in the tank. Anyone have any clue what it might be. Today it had what looked like some sharp tenticles coming out of it, but by the time I got the camera they had retracted.
