Since early 2000 we've had vendor concerns regarding members posting more than they do without having to pay vendor membership levels.
We intervened in a few cases back then and then stepped back to let things run their course, occasionally dropping a PM to a member when required.
Unfortunately, during 2021 and 2022 sales by members have continued to grow and, in many cases, members are regularly outposting vendors considerably.
As we rely on our vendor fees, as well as membership fees, to continue the site, we had to come up with some rules to keep everyone happy.

New rules for sales by members are below, please note any sales posts up now are grandfathered in, and these rules start officially today, March 2, 2022

1.Members are allowed 12 livestock sales posts per month which can be broken up into 1-12 individual posts

This is cumulative up to 12 items per month (2 posts with 6 items, 3 posts with 4 items, etc).

If a member owns a business or storefront, or is advertising on social media, they may still list 12 items per month, but they can not provide a link to, or mention their retail storefront or any link outside NJRC.
If this occurs, the post will be immediately removed.

2. Listings must be specific and a photo of the sale piece itself must be supplied for each item on sale.

Every item must have a sale price, no bidding is allowed, though best offer is acceptable.
Each piece for sale must also have a picture of the actual item for sale.

'Ironman Lobo $100 (with a photo)' is acceptable and counts as one monthly listing.
'Lobos $30-$200 (with or without photos)' is not acceptable.

2a. You are allowed multiple listing of the same item (species/variant) which will only count as 1 item.

If you have cut up a colony into multiple frags, you can sell all and it will only count as a single item listing.
A single species, say a Rasta of 30 heads, cut into 10 frags of various amount of heads, can be sold as...
'Rasta frags - 10 available, $5 per head, 1-3 heads per frag' would count as 1 listing, just put a pic of each frag.

'Zoa frags - multiple types, $5-10 per head' followed by 20 pictures of 8 species is not acceptable and would be pulled for review.
Post review, an NJRC BoD or mod would review your options of relisting with you.

3. If you wish to increase the amount of sales listing, new levels of 'member sponsorships' are available and will incur a slightly higher annual fee.

Member - Up to 12 listings per month / 144 per year ($20 annual fee as normal)
Member Bronze sponsor - Up to 25 listings per month / 300 per year ($35 annual)
Member silver sponsor - Up to 40 listings per month /480 per year ($50 annual)
Gold sponsor - Unlimited listings with banner and forum ($250 annual)

4. Exceptions to these rules will be made in the following cases:

If a member is breaking down a tank and selling off livestock and equipment they are allowed unlimited listings as long as the tank breakdown is within 2 months.
'I may be moving soon and need to sell these frags' is not acceptable, and will be pulled and flagged for further review.

Any member in an emergency situation (crack, catastrophic fail) is allowed unlimited listing of livestock and equipment.

If a member is doing a spring clean, or clearing out the garage of excess equipment, they are allowed unlimited equipment listings.

4. BoD/moderators reserve right to pull and review any posting which seems to violate any of the above rules.

Any questionable listing by any member will be removed by the BoD or moderators and pulled into a private forum.
There the listing will be open to BoD and moderators to review.
A vote will be taken by the BoD on appropriate action and the member will be informed of how to relist the post.
If needed (in a more serious case) they will be passed to legal to review (yes, thats part of where the dues go).

So, examples of appropriate listings:

Acceptable listing for someone selling (what we would consider) 4 items:
Raspberry Lobo, $40
Sunny D zoas, 2 head frags, $10 each (5 available) This counts as 1 listing as it is 1 species/variant
Superman Monti frags, 1", $25 (2 available) This counts as 1 listing as it is 1 species/variant
Utter chaos zoa frag, 5 heads, $25

Acceptable listing that would rate 8 items:
Lobos - Ironman/Barnstormer/Raspberry, $100/$100/$60 This counts as 3 listings as it is 3 species/variants
Chalices - Golden Eye/Dr.Evil, $35/$100 This counts as 2 listings as it is 2 species/variants

In final

The NJRC BoD and staff feel that 12 sales a month (144 annual) is an appropriate level for the $20 annual fee.
The occasional 14 or 15 listings will most likely be overlooked, but if it becomes a regular occurrence it will be addressed.
We developed the new member sponsor levels as a low cost alternative for members to sell on a regular basis (a single frag sale can easily cover a bronze or silver level upgrade).
We value all our members, and we value our vendors as well, so please understand why these rules were implemented. If our vendors were to leave we'd be unable to maintain the site expenses.

Thanks for listening all, an we hope you understand the club's situation and position.
