Here’s some generic blue light pics for you guys to get you through the day. Haven’t seen my tank in a few days and I think the corals started growing a bit more since I pruned my macro, my alk and calcium had dropped .4 and calcium by 20 over a 3 day period , so bumped that up. One Walt Disney frag did not like it and made its way to the heavens. The frag rack doesn’t give the corals enough light so it’s not like the corals thrive up there they basically just get by so little swings piss them off.

mine is even worse 100w nicrew. but i measured 350 par where i placed the sps. but its a crap light with no controller so i have to play with it all day and most of the day it doesnt get the 350, just for 4 hours.

i start with 0% whites, 50% blues, go to 100% blues after like 30-60 minutes, then after an hour or 2 ramp up the whites to 20% then 30 mins later up to 60%. after about 4 hours i kill the whites and run the rest of the day on 100% blues. unfortunately my par reduces when i limit the white spectrum so im below what it may have gotten before but at least its getting that high par part of the day.

lights for my frag tank have a controller but its not up yet. soon hopefully

I have never have my hands on any par netter so I don’t exactly know what the par is, but when I have acros that look like trash and lose polyps on the racks when I put them under the lights under the rocks they bounce right back. My confetti looked like trash in the beginnng. Almos lost it

Absolute droolfest over the yellow favia, always wanted one of these, yellow submarine. The colors are even more vibrant in person. Also was able to get the raptors piece favia chopped up into multiple frags , was over an inch thick of straight coral skeleton.

On today’s agenda, try to hook this thing up to take my very old bubble magnus offline and in the spare backup area. I love older equipment because they seem to last forever. My bubble has been working for over 7 years and has only had one head cease, but it’s too risky to let the other ones stay online when I am not home all the time to monitor it.

I started dosing neonitro yesterday for the first time ever. My tanks consistently at 0 because it has small fish they they get fed very inconsistently so I battle dangerous low levels that can make some corals look happy but flirt on the borderline of starving and dying. I had to dose 25 ml to my 25 gallon tank just to raise the level to 1ppm which technically should have been raised higher, but because my tank was so deficient in it, it either go sucked up too quickly or is binding/saturating my rock and sand. Now that I am going to bumping it up, I am curious to watch the change in a few corals. So enjoy the experiment :)

My fuge turns on at 12 at night and runs for around 6 hours which should affect the number some, but I keep it running for the phosphate uptake so it’s essential to keep it running in my opinion, but I feel as if the fuge will be my saving grace with fine tubing my dose. I have alonggg way to go before the tank has too much nitrates. I may even have to go get a snail or crab at some point lol. Never needed a cleanup crew since the tanks so clean, just two urchins in there.
