A friend of mine at work had a neighbor selling a 6 month old 29 gallon biocube. Apparently she bought it for use as a freshwater tank and didn't like it. I picked it up for $150, including the matching stand. So, I am trying to get some ideas on how to set this up. The reason I got it is that my 30 gallon cube tank was running out of spots for coral. I was hoping to transfer some coral from that tank to this one once it is setup.
So, the tank is currently stock. I would like some recommendations on lighting. It doesn't need to be an ultra high light tank, but I would like to house medium to low light coral in the tank. And who knows what I will want as time goes on, so some versatility would be nice.
What do those of you with this tank run in the back? Do you use a skimmer on it, or just do more frequent water changes? For those using a skimmer, what do you use?
How do you increase the flow in this tank? My 30 cube now has lots of flow from 4 maxi-jet 900's and the sump return, but I would like to hear what others have done with the bio-cube setup.
Any other suggestions about this tank would be great.
Thanks and have a happy new year!
Tina
