I don't know if this is what you are looling for, but Home Depot sells 2 gallon plastic paint buckets. Would they work?

We were looking for a 8 gallon container to mix saltwater and found a garbage can at Wegmans for like 5 bucks. A lot of places were doing back to school sales and garbage cans were all over the place. Works great for us.

I got a food grade container at a place called Efingers in Bound brook its a sporting goods place might want to try there. Never thought of that did you LOL.
