Added a new guy and right into the %$#@$% overflow he went!! Argghhhh!!!!!

Always wanted a hawk. When mysShrimp passed I started to think about gettin' one. So, I did. My blennt (lawnmower) was so ticked off he chased him and then my clown started to chase him and right into the overflow he went. I have a sort of fence around it, with a tiny gap. He found the tiny gap. Anyway, looks like tonight I am gonna have to drain the overflow and go in! Will he bite me?

Yes he will bite you, they have very large teeth that are very sharp and cause severe pain and jaws like a pitbull.Ok,so Im pullin yr leg...lol Do be carefull of the top fins, they are sharp.Good luck on retrieving him from the overflow. Also make sure you have some sort of screen top for the tank, they def like to jump.

Thanks for the advice Paul. Gonna throw on my firefightin gear to catch this guy. I valved off the return and drain then drained the overflow. Couldnt find the hawk. Looked in the tank....there he was!!!! I am an IDIOT!!!! I do have screens and they are pretty tight. But, I had to rig up a plastic fence around the top of the overflow. Anyway, happened to be very happy with the lil guy. Anyone have experience with them and other fish givin them problems when first added?

If it makes ya feel any better I came home to my clown in the overflow as well.

Just be careful of the dorsal fins and you should be ok. Im going to try and find a good way to cover this up tomorrow. If successful I'll let ya know what I did lol.
