Adding Local Seaweeds from Local New York waters to Reef

I collect these seaweeds on my morning walks to the beach behind my home. They don't last more than a month or two but I think they look interesting. I have always been doing this for many decades. The urchins chop it up.

do your fish eat it up at all or just your inverts?

My fish don't eat these, but the urchins cut them off so they float.

A number of years ago I went with Bob @radiata to Sandy Hook to collect some algae he was looking for....I think to feed his fish. He was very specific, and hopefully he'll stop in and tell you what it was.

I'm still loo90king for Enteromorpha intestinalis. I got some from Maine, but it didn't acclimate to my reef temperatures.
