Algae help

I believe this is ‘beard algea’. It’s long, bushy, feathery and is of a blackish color. I’ve tried taking out and scrubbing the affected piece but the stuff keeps coming back and it is spreading. Got an emerald crab and it doesn’t seem to like it. Phosphates reasonably low. 0.25, nitrates at 5 ish.

any thoughts on how to treat it? I keep looking on line and I am only finding freshwater herbivore to eat it. Can’t find reef

thanks in advance.

Thanks for the response. Interesting. I watched a couple of videos. Some directly treat in tank, others remove others dose. Any recommendations? Unfortunately as it has spread, removing and treating is not longer a realistic option.
