Anyone have a sea hare they want to part with for Sat?

I would like to buy one from someone to start feasting on this lovely crop of hair algae I have been farming.

(or) if someone knows they are going by Aquatic Obsessions before the meeting, would you be able to pick one up for me? (if avail)

Thx

Hey Bob,

As a former hair algae farmer and a current sea hare owner, I'd recommend taking other steps to stop your HA problem.

Do you use RO/DI? Checked current TDS to make sure filters are working well?
Do you overfeed?
Do you have a fuge with macro?
Have you tried manual removal (I.e., pulling it out by hand)?

My sea hare seems to enjoy the algae that grows on the glass, and occasionally moves on to the rock, but he had almost no impact on my HA problem (when I had one). All the other things I listed did, though...just took a little bit of time.

I love my Hare for the diversity it adds to my tank, but I hate to see people add animals to tackle a problem that's really one effected more by husbandry than anything else.

Anyway, good luck...just wanted to throw that out there.

Good points there Sub
Yes, I do use RO/DI with new cartridges across the board, although I haven't check it out. Don't have a TDS yet. I was running only RO for a while when I didn't have the DI cart. yet
I do have work to do to reduce the nutrients. I've been 'riding things out' until I can get my new sump up and running and to fire up this MRC1. I have been going with very minimal food for the school of Chromis and lonely angel I have. Once the sump is up, a fuge will come along, although I do need a light there yet. I have to admit I have been a little lax on the water changes.(10% every three weeks although my load is light.) Only shrooms and fish until a week ago. This has been improving as of late though.

I did make some other adjustments, firing up the phosban reactor a little over two weeks ago and stepping up in running the nitrate sponge particle.

Thanks Mike..LMK! I think I would like one. I think my kids would get a kick out of it. (not to mention yours truly)

Thought I saw at least two of them in the tank next to that monstrous star fish.
