My AquaC protein skimmer hasnt really been producing the foam it used to... It takes it quite come time to build up and it used to send it flying up the column right to the collection cup... I was thinking that maybe the pump is losing some power and isnt efficient enough to run the skimmer.... I clean it thoroughly so it isnt an issue of it just being dirty.. Any thoughts?

if you adjusted the valves and it still isnt working right,make sure the drain line is also clean. take the pump out and clean it and the impeller. i actually had a similar problem with this skimmer and it actually had some cracks in the base and collection cup of the skimmer, so check for that.just a thought. LAST resort: new pump(im always replacing pumps since nothing lasts forever).

thoroughly cleaning it constantly defeats the purpose of the skimmer. It need a break-in period of time and thoroughly cleaning it will just re-set that timer in my opinion.
if this is the model with the gatevalve - you need to adjust the gate valve. If that's already done - unscrew the air valve - I get all kinds of crud/salt in there that prevents the air from going thru.

You need to clean out the injector occasionally. It gets clogged sometimes with little snail shells and debris.

Ya i clean the neck and collection cup often so that wasnt the issue.. I actually popped off the spray injector to clean it and found 2 nitrate sponge granules clogging 75% of the inlet... Problem solved.. Cleaned it up nice and its running like new... Thanx for all the advice guys.. Whomever mentioned cleaning the injector was on the money.. Thanx again...
