Anyone have knowledge of AI controller firmware solutions?
I had my lights flicker and then dim on Monday 2/11.
My Controller (older model with right left button and dial under them) showed a picture of a internet cable and stated FIRMWARE UPDATE.
I tried unplugging the controller and reattaching....nothing.
I went online and found many people who had various update threads in the AI Facebook page from 2/11, so not just me. BUT there mandatory updates were on newer controllers and easily remedied.
I finally found a thread that said to connect it to the PC. I did and nothing. The drive showed up but nothing changed with the controller.
Then I found another thread that said hold the dial when you connect to the PC, and it gave me the menu.
Shoulda stopped there and checked to see if it was fixed, but that page had more details.
Said to delete the old version and reinstall the newest version. so I did.
Went back to my tank with the new updated controller and NOTHING!
Actually went back to displaying the FIRMWARE UPDATE message.
NOW when I tried hitting the dial and reinserting into my computer NOTHING happens.
So now I have $1,000+ in AI Hydra lights that are not controllable due to a forced firmware update.
I was able to reset the individual lights to factory settings each morning by holing in the connector button and plugging the power supply in, then unplugging at the end of the day.
Problem there is I do NOT know what parameters the lights are factory set to!
Emailed customer service and they gave me a list of 3 line items(not even as much as I tried) and said if the message continues send for service.
Would love to sell these off so I can upgrade to all kessil!
