i have one now that is converted, its the aquaclear 70 i think with the smaller impeller and it needs the trays glued in. PM me
Here's a link with a little more detail. I can't find the original source from when I made mine, but basically, you need nothing more than the media basket, some superglue, and a cutting tool of your choice (I used a sharp utility knife).
Just cut the 3 pieces of the media basket, glue the "grid" section (bottom of the media basket) into place in front of the water output to keep the macro algae in the fuge, and glue one of the sides in between the media chamber and the pump housing to keep anything from getting drawn into the pump impeller. I do kinda like the idea this guy in the link used to use the sides of the media basket to "prop up" a small light over the fuge, but I just used a clip on light.
