Found a really cool program, thought I'd share. It's a citrix based application much like gotomypc.com but much better, nicer GUI interface, and it's Fa-fa-fa FREE!

I started using it. I can actually bypass my company firewall (I said I was a computer nerd) and use it to log into my desktop at home when I'm in the office and works VERY well...as if I was sitting infront of it!

I'm using it upstairs now and it's running as quick as if I was sitting in front of it. Wow, I'm going to get lazy. You add computers to your existing account by logging in from those computers and adding them. It runs a quick MSI based installer and poof... Any PC that has an internet connection, you log in and tell it which computer you want to log in...

Heck yeah, it's pretty much the coolest program ever....

You have to go to the site and log into your account with username/pw. When you go to remote to your other pc's, you have a key that you set up when you registered that you have to enter. There's actually 2 fail safes :)

Pretty cool little program. Only drawback to it is now my wife wants to use her laptop...so I'll have to break out my laptop so I don't have to go downstairs.. hehe

we use gotomeeting.com all the time at work. its great for connecting to peoples computer to fix stuff when they can barely turn it on.

I been using it for years and it works for Apple Computers too. Its very safe encrypted...
I like them so much we purchased their other product logmeinrescue.com.

We use it both at home and at both of my jobs. I can support all 40 machines from the comfort of my home just like I was there! Love, love, love it way more than gotomypc. We purchased Logmein ignition so that I don't even have to go to the website. It's a little program that password locked on my password locked desktop and allows me access to all of machines with just a few mouse clicks.

unfortunately, the company I work for is a little 'willy nilly' about the apps we get to use. Everything must undergo testing and certification and get crazy approvals for use. They only allow us to log into other pc's using remote desktop or remote assistance or doing a C$ into the machine...and we administer alot through Active Directory...


Ahhh...the good old days when I could use whatever I wanted and things weren't so locked down :(

.... that and we can also grab all the bandwidth for Bitorrent use... I mean testing wan applications and such ;D

I chose to call it network bandwith optimization and testing. :eek:

We have a couple of vendors remote to our PC's using logmein and I have been using it for quite some time now. I have my ACjr connected to my laptop and every so often I dial in and check the status of the tank. Next step will be to connect a webcam.

LOL... yeah, the shrooms are doing well :) Getting bigger every day, and I found a new one 2 days ago. Guess that means they like me ;)
