Bar + Reef Tank = Awesomeness

So thanks to DangerDave, I’ve upgraded from a 70 tall to a 5ft long 120. Since the new tank would not fit where the old one was, I’ve resorted to completely rearranging my basement ( wife is not happy ). But as long as I get everything done before the gender reveal party Friday Night, which is followed by a trip to San Diego for a week I think she’ll be ok with it. I’ve decided that the bar area and the fish tank area need to become one in the same, so the bar has moved along with the tank.

Here is the tank on its new stand starting to fill up.

The rock work is also done, and I let that sit overnight in the tank with power heads and heaters running.

I added in the corals right before bed, but one of my heater died, it just stopped working over night, so when I woke up the tank was sitting at about 68, normally keep it around 76. Everything is closed up and I fear I’ve lost the few corals I have.

I got the tank back up to temp this morning and have just moved my 6 fish over.

So the tank is now completely set up and everything is transferred. Bar is set up and fridge is stocked.

All that’s left now is to go back and organize all the wires and trying to quiet the overflow.

I’m leaving for San Diego on Saturday and will be gone for a week, let’s see how she does while I’m away. When I get back I’ll be looking to add more corals, and my next fish. Looking to pick up some more pulsing Xenia since mine did not survive the transfer. I think I’m going to go bare bottom with this tank and let some GSP take over the bottom glass, so I’ll be looking for a few more frags of that. And then with the rest of the tank I want it to be most zoanthid and hammer tank.

I have a black and white clown, a regular clown, electric blue damsel, Sargent major, yellow watchman, and lawnmower Benny, also two pretty big emerald crabs

Yea I over filled the tank I pulled some out and it just hold the overflow when the power is out. I’d like to go bigger, I actually have a 55 that came with the 120 but it won’t fit under the stand

Tank survived the vacation to San Diego. Everything looks good and doing well. I’m currently making water so I can do a water change Wednesday night. Then it’s time to start adding to the tank. Looking to add some Zoas and other soft corals. Anyone have anything growing to big and want to chop a piece off?
