Belmar

well, just got back from Belmar----thanks Paul and your wife for helping---so there was 3 of us----tide was coming in, seining net fell apart---thats kinda what i expected after sitting in the garage for bout 30 some years, but i brought 2 big nets with me and was able to scope up some killies, a few tiny crabs, some shrimp. Now its time to get the sand, water and fish into the tank. Sure was nice seeing the old area again. Its so built up i couldnt believe it. one thing, no hermits, snails , starfish, mussels or clams anywhere. I asked someone walking their dog and she said its cause of the pollution in the water. MAn, thats a shame---but, will be gong down again, but gotta buy a seining net and killie trap. but for now, the fishes i have now is more then i had this morning....
Again, Paul and your wife---thanks ---i had a good time--will do it again for sure real soon

well, sand, water and fish are in tank, along with some dead live rock and i have bout 3 gallons left over
the 4 shrimp i have all have eggs, so i put some plastic fresh water fake plants in there for the shrimp to hide
and along with all the killies there's 1 stickleback fish----now i have Belmar in my basement, and it smells like Belmar too.........

Hey, we just got back after taking a moseyed ride back and forth across that part of the state. Kerry and I had a good time. I was supprised that no other bodies showed up after the original post, showing so much interest. Anyway we're ready to do it again at some later date. I'd like to be there when the butterflies come up on the warm water. I'd be interested in keeping one or two of those.

Hurtback, thanks for putting this together and we'll be there for the next one.

got back from fishing on a friends boat in belmar, the starfish were all over the docks and whatnot, brought a few home to freeze and cut up for the harliqhuin... the shrimp LOVES them, and so do a few other inhabitants, including a couple of the fish.
