Calcium/Alk chart or calculator?

Calcium/Alk chart or calculator?Anyone know of a link?I used to have one that came with an old test kit,but it got misplaced during the move.
With this new calcium test kit,the readings I'm geting are 580PPM!and the same old Slifert Alk test kit I'm getting a 6.42 reading! The only thing I am using different is a Kent 2part solution(LFS dose'nt carry B-ionic)
Any help would be appreciated,thanks a lot,so long-Pete

Are you asking about the conversion from your 580ppm Ca into Alk dKH ? You can't convert it because they are two completely different things and while in general they are inversely corelated, there is no conversion between them. And your readings are quite possible - high Ca lowers Alk. Stop adding Ca and let the other component buffers it and corals "eat" it

Yeah,I understand that.I was asking if there is a chart that actually shows the co-relation between the calcium and alkalinity i.e-ca=560/alk=6.42 and so on until I reach the desired readings.
Thanks for that the link,so long-Pete

yea...the calculator will give you a balanced ratio as a guide based on the desired Ca or Alk. I usually shoot for 440 and 4.0 which is considered balanced.
Good Luck, glad I could help.

I never knew that the two different 2part solutions would have such a different reaction.Everything was on the money using ESV,and the LFS only carries Kent products,so... I'm gonna bring it[calcium]back down slowly by only adding the one part to bring the Alk up to about 8dkh,Right?It's not that big of a system,so even only a few gallon water change might correct it.Thanks again,Rich.
