Calcium reactor and kalkwasser

I am getting ready to put my calcium reactor back on my tank. I've been thinking about taking my kalk stirrer off when I do. I ran them both at the same time when I had the reactor on before and it worked well. But I think it will be nice not to have to maintain the kalk stirrer anymore. Just wonder how many people are run calcium reactors with kalkwasser and how many people are running calcium reactors only.

i just run a calcium reactor only but i'm eventually going to run a kalk stirrer just to increase my pH more to test if that really helps with growth. my ph is always above 8 since my tanks are in the basement and no one really goes down there besides me. Unless you are seeing really low pH due to the addition of the co2 from the effluent then the addition of kalk imo is not required. a refugium filed with macro algae can also help with pH and to soak up some of the co2 as well.

Higher ph definitely helps with growth. When I ran the reactor before my ph was 8.2 to 8.1 with kalkwasser. I'm going to try it without the stirrer and see how it goes. If it drops below 8 during the day I'm going to but it back on.
